I am new to cd players

I am new to all this, just made do in the past with cassetts, now i want a cd in my car,
So whats a head unit? can this go into the dashboard?
Where does the c/d go there does not seem to be a slot for it in the Picture of the unit i am interested in?
any help?

The head unit goes into your car's dash board. The slot for the CD is so thin, perhaps this is why you can't see it.

Or perhaps the CD head unit has a detachable face. This has to be tilted to put in or to remove your CD from the player. You can't see the CD slot until the face is shifted.
