Portable Car CD Players

Many car owners are buying portable car cd players nowadays, instead of in-dash car cd players. Personally I believe that they are awesome, and I do own two of them.

Instead of getting rid of your cassette player and buying a more expensive in-dash car cd player, all you have to do is to get a portable cd player. They are generally cheaper and come with many outstanding features. Portable car CD players come with a car kit that makes connecting them to your cassette player a breeze.

There is a lot of variety to choose from. The best manufacturers of these portable or personal CD players include Aiwa, Sony, JVC, Pioneer, Panasonic and Kenwood. All of them come with their own distinct features but a lot of the features are standard.

Many of these portable car CD players come with what is called Skip-Free G Protection technology. This means that no matter how much you shake or move your portable CD player it will continue to function properly and your music won't skip. I have personally witnessed one of these CD players falling down without any interruption in the music that was playing.

When you buy portable car CD players, you should receive accessories such as stereo headphones, a car kit, a cassette-shell audio adapter, an AC power adapter, a DC power adapter and a car remote control. Many times you are even provided with software that will help you get the most out of your car CD player.

The best ones do not consume much energy. Imagine being able to get over 90 hours of MP3 playback and 50 hours CD-DA playback from 2 AA batteries. And that's only if you're not using the car adapter that your portable player comes with. Use your car adapter and you don't even have to think about getting batteries.

An in-dash car CD player is stuck to your car. It's more or less part of your dash board and must stay in the car. When you buy one that is portable, you can take it wherever you want. Simply unplug it and take it out of the car with you. You can continue listening to your music. No need to stop when you get out of your car. Perhaps this is just what you've always wanted. Well thanks to the Internet, one is only a few clicks away.
