Variable Volume - Kenwood CD player

by Michael Moulton
(aiken, SC USA)

I have a kenwood cd player (head unit) and just recently i put a new battery in my truck. im thinking about getting a compacator for my system. anyways my trucks volume varys when i ride with it up kinda loud. im using an ipod and cd's so i know its not like its the radio station doing it. i dont know if my head unit is going bad or if the wiring is bad. the truck is a 1994 chevy z71. this is the first head unit installed in it. it has only been in the truck for a few months now. when i first installed it the radio and the whole system hit hard. but now its just not the same. my lights used to dim when my hard bass hit. but since i got the new battery its not dimming that bad. could you help with the sound variable problem and maybe even the lower bass levels? thank you
